No-Needle No-Scalpel Vasectomy

Pre-Procedure Preparation:

  • If you are planning to take oral sedative, you are not permitted to drive the rest of the day.  Please arrange a driver to take you home.

  • Shave the hair on scrotum only

  • Just before coming to the clinic for procedure, take a shower and wear loose fitting underwear.

  • The procedure takes about 30 minutes.

Surgery

  • Lie down on your back

  • The skin of the scrotum is sterilized with antiseptic solution

  • The skin and the vas deferens are numbed with local anesthetic solution administered either with a pressurized syringe without a needle or with a fine, tiny needle. No more pain once the freezing starts within seconds. You will feel pulling and touching.

  • A single skin puncture about 2-3 mm is made.

  • The vas deferen is separated from the tissue, a segment removed, cauterized and clipped with small titanium clips.

  • The same is done on the other vas

  • Both vas deferens are returned back into scrotum.

  • No stitches to skin. Tiny puncture wound is sealed by itself.

Immediate after the Procedure

  • Rest in the clinic for about 30 minutes

  • The puncture wound will heal in a few days with  little or no scarring
